Mary Reilly

Mary D. Reilly, of Northport, died on Sept. 4. She was 85.

Born in the Bronx in 1928, she lived her life helping the mentally ill while improving the general mental health of her patients. Upon graduating with her master’s in social work from Hofstra University, she went on to become a mental health professional with the New York State Office of Mental Health. She was also an active advocate in Suffolk County Democrat politics, pushing to meet the needs of people with mental health concerns.

Her family and friends remember her as an intellect, poet, writer, artist, dancer and – in her younger years – a model; she was a part of the Ford Modeling Agency in New York City.

She is survived by her brothers Kenneth and his wife Carol Wilkening; sons, Thomas and Timothy and their wives Kathleen and Christine; and her grandchildren, Thomas, Samantha, Timothy, Michael and Victoria. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; mother, Mary; brothers George and Robert; and nephew Kenneth.

A private service was held in September.

Mary Falzone

Mary L. Falzone, of Huntington, died on Sept. 21. She was 96.

Born in Johnstown, Penn. in 1917, she is survived by her children, Jack and his wife Cathy, Philip and his wife Loretta, Thomas Pannullo and his wife Debra, and George Pannullo. She was also a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Arrangements were by M. A. Connell Funeral Home on Sept. 23 with an interment that followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Huntington.

Joseph Bertuccio

Joseph John Bertuccio, of Lloyd Harbor, died Sept. 6. He was 66.

A native of Queens, he was born in 1947 and would later marry his wife Candy, with whom he spent 47 years of marriage.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his mother Josephine; siblings, Jeffrey and his wife Lisa, and JoAnn and her husband Bob Spetta; children, Michael and Barbara and her husband Michael Michaud; and grandchildren, Travis, Paige, Brooke and Grayson. He was predeceased by his father, Dominick.

Arrangements were made by M. A. Connell Funeral Home on Sept. 8 with an interment that followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery at Huntington.
