Throughout the 2014 season, sophomore Paige Herling and junior Lauren Paolano have placed themselves atop the Cold Spring Harbor field hockey team’s score sheet. With 6 goals apiece, the duo has played a hand in supplanting the Seahawks (6-3) in fourth place with two games left to play in the Conference I season.
But, even after 10 games, Herling and Paelano may have only just recently scored their most important goals.
On Oct. 10 against a Clarke (8-2) team in third place, Herling and Paolano each recorded a goal to give the Seahawks a 2-0 victory over the Rams. Senior captain Haley Crosson also added an assist in the winning effort.
In the cage for Cold Spring Harbor, junior goalkeeper Kylie Tsotos recorded 3 saves in the Seahawks’ sixth shutout of the season – and second straight.
Closing out the season, Cold Spring Harbor will make two final road trips. First up, the team heads to North Shore (4-5) for a scheduled 4:30 p.m. start on Friday. On Oct. 20, the Seahawks will pay a visit to Great Neck South (0-7), also at 4:30 p.m.
