Obituary listings for the Town of Huntington.

Joan Winthrop

Joan A. Winthrop, of Northport, died Oct. 17. She was 85.

Born in Brooklyn, she married her husband, the late David, and had eight children. She formerly worked food service at Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital in Kings Park, where she also lived.

She is survived by her children Teresa, David, John and his wife Marianne, Catherine and her husband Steve Hillerman, Robert and his wife Tracy, James and his wife Jaci, and Joan and her husband Matt Motherway; and her grandchildren, David, Joanna, Marc, Christopher, Katerina, Oksana, Margaret, Dmitry, Robert, Amanda, Taylor, Andrew, Diana, Matthew and Kieran. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, the late Margaret Bacelli.

Arrangements were made by Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home in Northport. A funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Church in Kings Park last week. An internment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk, 505 Main St., Northport, NY 11768.

Vito Moles

Vito R. Moles, of Huntington Station, died Oct. 6. He was 70.

Born in Manhattan, he went on to become a New York City Police Department lieutenant and husband to his wife, Lorraine.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Dina Moles and her husband Michael Ferrari, and his granddaughter, Violet Jane. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucy DiBartolo, and his son, Vito “VJ.”

Arrangements were made by M. A. Connell Funeral Home in Huntington Station earlier in October. A funeral Mass was held at St. Hugh of Lincoln Church in Huntington Station with an interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Huntington.
