Obituary listings for the Town of Huntington.

Dorothy Walz

Dorothy B. Walz (nee Benson), a resident of East Northport, died April 25. She was 81.

Born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, she was the widow of the late Edwin C. Walz, whom she was married to for 34 years.

She is survived by her brother, Robert R. Benson and his wife Marie; and her nieces and nephews, Diane Hamilton, Patricia Evans, Robert S. Benson, Ronald Durkel, John Durkel and Stephen Durkel.

Along with her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Jack and Bill.

Arrangements were made by Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home in Northport on Tuesday. A funeral service was held the same day at the funeral home before an interment at Calverton National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her name can be made to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church at 4 Trescott Path, Fort Salonga, N.Y. 11768.

Donald White

Donald A. White, a resident of Huntington, died April 30. He was 83.

Born in St. Albans, N.Y., he was the beloved husband of Betty Jo for 52 years and a retired principal of the Cold Spring Harbor School District.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kristen White, and his siblings, Patricia Strippell and Russell White.

Arrangements were made by M.A. Connell Funeral Home in Huntington Station on Sunday. A funeral Mass was held on Monday at St. Patrick’s Church in Huntington with a cremation made by the Long Island Cremation Co. in West Babylon.

Marie Scalzo

Marie Scalzo, a resident of Melville, died April 22. She was 102.

Born in Italy, she was a volunteer for the Salvation Army for many years and was the beloved wife of the late William for over 75 years.

She is survived by her son, Ronald, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements were made by M.A. Connell Funeral Home in Huntington Station on April 23.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Melville the next day with an entombment at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Peter Fisichella

Peter T. Fisichella, a resident of Huntington, died April 17. He was 87.

He was the beloved husband of Anna for 66 years and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Connie and her husband Jerry McEneaney, Peter, Madelyn and her husband Carl Lombardi, and Paul and his wife Elizabeth; his siblings, Camille and Laraine; his grandchildren, Gerard, Jacquelin, Moira, Anna, Madelyn, Carlo, Dominique, Celeste, Peter and Paul; and his many loving niece and nephews.

Arrangements were made by A.L. Jacobsen Funeral Home in Huntington Station. There was a private cremation. A funeral Mass was held at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Huntington on April 21. A burial of cremains followed at the Long Island National Cemetery.
